As of January 1, 2018, Dr Cara has relocated to Cranbrook, British Columbia. You can contact her now at Cranbrook Acupuncture Clinic.
Hello and welcome.
I’m a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine based in Inglewood, Calgary. I have personally found that acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine is a potent and rich healing combination. When coupled with developing one’s awareness of mental, emotional and lifestyle patterns, the results are multiplied.
What can I say about me? I trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in Calgary as well as China. Coming from an international Chinese / New Zealand background, I bring a unique ‘East meets West’ approach to health. I’m also a meditator, seeker and a meditation teacher. I’m fascinated by the body and all the way it holds patterns of both illness and health.
Calgary has been home since 2012. I was born in New Zealand and have also lived in Singapore, China and Japan. I moved to the Cranbrook BC area in 2008 to live and work at Clear Sky Meditation Center. My interests include food forests, sustainable agriculture, writing poetry and developing interpersonal communication.

In Summary, why I do what I do:
I practice Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine because it is a non-invasive, drug free, holistic, all-encompassing healthcare system, that is incredibly effective where mainstream medicine often fails. I teach Buddhist-based meditation and mindfulness because it helps one develop the calm, concentration and insight needed to distinguish between what habit patterns in one’s life are wholesome (health generating) and unwholesome (disease causing).
